Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test

The next CGC test date: September 13
Training Site, Rengstorff Park

Could your dog pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test? Both purebred and mixed breed dogs are welcome to participate in this program, as long as your dog is old enough to have received the necessary immunizations; there is no age limit on the test. This program stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. Please see our flyer and registration form by clicking here.

Deep Peninsula DTC sponsors one test per year and sometimes two, for a cost of $10, by appointment, and open first to our students, then club members, and if openings are available, to the general public. Please send an eMail to our CGC Chairman to reserve a spot.

AOCNC INTERCLUB OBEDIENCE AND RALLY COMPETITION

Sunday, June 13, 2010 — Shoreline Park, Martinez

Premium List

While strictly an event for club members, anyone can be a spectator. There will be a potluck, please bring a dish.

The purpose of the Inter-Club Competition is:

  1. To provide an opportunity for members, trainers and trainees from each of the member Obedience Clubs belonging to the Associated Obedience Clubs of Northern California, to compete for ribbons and trophies as listed in Section VII, Awards.
  2. To provide obedience classes, rally classes and non-regular classes as recommended by the Board of Directors.
  3. To provide ring experience for all eligible handlers and dogs.
  4. To encourage camaraderie among dog obedience enthusiasts.
  5. To provide, free of charge, the opportunity for the general public to observe well-trained dogs in Northern California performing standard AKC exercises. This should help provide a stimulus to seek obedience and/or rally training for their own dogs and thus promote responsible dog ownership.

Los Altos Kiwanis Pet Parade

Saturday, May 15, 2010 @10 am

DPDTC participates in the Annual Pet Parade in Los Altos. During the parade a designated “caller” gives the members and students commands when we are stopped along the route--a popular one is “down” while participants walk away from their dogs and back again. Your participation is welcomed or your cheers from the sidelines.

Walk a 6-block parade route in downtown Los Altos with you and your dog "struttin' your stuff". Meet at the parking lot next to Los Altos Coffee Shop (near Main St. and Second) at 9:15am. Please wear a green shirt, and green bandanas will be provided for your dogs. There is plenty of parking at the nearby Hillview Community Center. Please call Charlie Cenac or Rosalie Alvarez for more information.

More information may be obtained at the Los Altos Kiwanis Club website.
